Changes to library opening hours
From February 16, 2026, the main library building will be permanently closed on Saturdays. The Reading Room with kitchenette and Group Study Rooms will remain available throughout the weekend (9 AM to 5 PM).
The Central Library service makes it possible to borrow books and articles from libraries outside of Brno and abroad
If you need a publication that is not available in any of the Brno libraries, you can order the required title from other libraries in the Czech Republic or abroad. The Inter-library Loan Service (ILL) can be used to order books or journal articles available at other libraries in the Czech Republic. The service is free, except for shipping or copying.
You can now also use the International Inter-library Loan Service (IILL) to order books and articles that are only available at foreign libraries. The service is charged at the valid price list on the website of the Moravian Regional Library.
International Inter-library Loan Service
Documents ordered using ILL or IILL service are intended only for study in the library, we do not lend them home. The maximum number of ordered documents is five and loans cannot be extended.
