Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

Instructions for browsing

1. Finding a card

You need to click through to a specific card. Cards are arranged at multiple levels and their quantity depends on the amount of cards in a specific catalogue.

  • alphabetical range of letters
  • 100 cards
  • 10 cards
  • detail of one card

2. How to order a book

In the upper right corner of the card you will find the call number of the book that you need to order the book at the Circulation and Registration Desk.

If there is no call number in the upper right corner, the book is not located in the Central Library but in some of the departmental libraries. For information on how to obtain it, contact the Circulation and Registration Desk.

What is a name catalogue?

This label means that the cards are sorted alphabetically by the authors’ surnames. If the author is not indicated, or if the book has more than three authors, it is listed by the title of the work.
