UPDATED | Yellow university traffic-light system and the FA Central Library

18 Nov 2021

Updated December 2: change in the conditions of entry to the Group Study Rooms and Reading Room.

The university traffic light turns yellow on November 22, 2021. It is still necessary to wear respirators in all MU buildings and to maintain distances. The yellow color indicates that the Central Library is closed to the public and will be available only to students and faculty staff.

The main library building

  • Students and staff members can still use the services of the Central Library in the full range of operating hours on Mon–Fri 9–20, Sat–Sun 9–17.
  • To enter the library, it is necessary to have student status and meet the O-N-T condition: i.e., to have a certificate of vaccination, proof of coronavirus recovery, or a negative test result in the last 7 days. The inspection will take place at the Information Desk.
    • An ISIC is required to verify active study.
    • To verify the O-N-T, the records in the MU IS are not enough (it is accessible only by the teacher); it is necessary to show a printed or electronic certificate of infectivity or QR code.
  • Those who meet these conditions can use the Quiet Study Rooms for individual study and continue to borrow books from the open access collection and closed stacks at the Circulation and Registration Desk.
  • Those who do not meet the conditions of O-N-T can use the pick-up place to borrow books after contacting us at knihovna@phil.muni.cz.
  • Thanks to the E-loans, users have access to scanned books from the MU library collection. If the book is not available in the E-loans, it is possible to request a scan of the title via the form.

Group Study Rooms

  • Group Study Rooms are primarily for faculty staff for the implementation of online teaching.
  • Reservations for Group Study Rooms can only be made by faculty staff.
  • If the Group Study Rooms are unoccupied, students can obtain a card to enter the study rooms after proving O-N-T at the Information Desk.
  • Students will receive a card for Group Study Rooms in exchange for an ISIC card.
  • If a reservation is made for the room, students must always leave the study room for the reserved time.

Reading Room and kaFFe

  • The Reading Room will be open on Mon–Fri 8–20, Sat–Sun 9-17.
  • To enter and stay in the Reading Room, you need to prove O-N-T at the Cafe Desk.
