White MU traffic-light system and more in-person lectures may lead to more frequent visits to our library. Let's take a closer look at library spaces and what they can offer.

From Monday, March 14, no government rules apply for universities.

Date with your library
You'll learn basic information about library services and spaces. Attend in person on Thursday, March 10, 8.00 AM, or online on March 15. Our apologies, but both events are in Czech only. If you have any questions, please use the form below, and we will gladly answer in English.
Main library building
Quiet Study Rooms provide space to study without distractions and share your motivation with other students at work. You can use your own laptop or library computers. Circulation and Registration Desk on the ground floor is the place to go when you need to borrow books, journals, or board games. For books, you can also use the Self-check machine. Headphones, computer mice, and other useful items are available at the Information Desk. Library Desks in study rooms provide blankets or markers.
Borrowing basics Quiet Study Rooms guide
Librarians are ready to assist you during opening hours at ground-floor and first-floor desks. We will guide you towards the most appropriate resources, help using the photocopier, or correct your citations.
Makerspace
You can find the newly opened Makerspace on the third floor. After mandatory training, anyone can use a 3D printer, a sewing machine, a cutting plotter, a button maker, or virtual reality.
What one may not expect at the library
- borrow a key to a locker for long-term use
- in-built lockers for short-term safe storage of personal belongings, locked with ISIC or other MU chip card
- Quiet Coffee with a kitchenette where you can brew and drink your tea or coffee
- SUPO banking machine in the lobby
- spiral and other types of binding on the spot, at the Information Desk
- markers, post-its, and more to buy at the Information Desk
- “Knihotoč”, a bookshelf in the lobby, where you can leave your books for somebody else to read
Building D
Where you can do all the things forbidden at the library – it is a place for heated discussions and other loud activities.
Group Study Rooms
Rooms with 5 or 10 person capacity and available computer and screen. We suggest to make a reservation if you want to ensure room availability.
Reading Room with café desk kaFFe
Space with comfy armchairs and beanbags to get together, study, or relax. Energize yourself with coffee and snacks from the café desk; both can be prepared to go. Or bring your own food and heat it in the nearby kitchenette.
FA branch libraries
Network of libraries located at individual departments. Documents marked in the catalogue as Faculty of Arts – Departments can be borrowed and returned only in the given branch library.
