The increasing pressure to publish leads to violations of certain ethical rules in the scientific world. These are committed not only by authors themselves but also by journals and publishing houses. In this lecture, colleagues from the RMU Centre for Scientometric Support and Evaluation will introduce the basics of good practice and ethics in publishing. They will focus on predatory journals and show how to spot them. They will also discuss responsible approaches to evaluating science and scientists and show how to interpret some metrics correctly.
