All library premises will be closed on May 1–3 and 8–10, 2026.
Summer at the library: opening hours and changes
In July, the main building is open Monday through Thursday. In August, it will be closed, due to cleaning, maintenance, and an upgrade to the new library system. We will partially reopen in early September. The Group Study Rooms and Reading Room will remain open on weekdays throughout the summer.

What you need to know
- Books can be returned to the Bookdrops at any time.
- Starting June 1, you can borrow books and board games until September 14, 2026.
- We offer book scanning into the E-loans system. All electronic information resources are available 24/7.
- We offer consultations, both in person and online. Please don’t hesitate to contact us even during limited opening hours.

We will resume our regular opening hours for all library areas on Monday, September 14.
Library system change
At the end of July, the current library system will be taken offline.
This means:
- the catalog will be temporarily unavailable
- it will not be possible to view your account
- you will still be able to borrow and return books (these services will temporarily be handled manually)
- books from the open stacks will remain available
After the new system goes live (around August 19):
- active readers’ accounts will be automatically transferred to the new system
- borrowing history and favourites list will not be available
- the old catalog will be temporarily available at vufind.ics.muni.cz
- a new unified search engine for books and e-resources will be available at the current address, katalog.muni.cz
- new readers will register online through the MU Information System (IS MU)
We will provide further updates regarding the new search interface and any other potential changes.
