Catalogues
On 1 January 1996, the automatization of the
library catalogue (cataloguing both books and journals in the library system
TINLIB) was begun. Books and journals are marked with a bar code which
represents the accession number. This number, together with the call number
(signatura), is important for identifying a book in the electronic catalogue.
By September 2003, the number of volumes listed in the electronic catalogue
had reached almost 160,000. On 1 August 2003 was introduced new library database
system Aleph.
