I am looking for a book
If you have found a book in the Aleph catalogue and you know its call number, there are several possibilities where the book may be physically located.
Open access collections
You can find the book in some of the reading rooms. Write down the call number from the catalogue record (e.g. 820b-SHAK1-4) and find the book by this call number. The glass door of each of the reading rooms contains an overview of the call numbers located on the given floor. If you are at a loss, ask us. We will be happy to find the book for you. Books marked with an orange dot cannot be checked out, they are available for in-library use only.
If a book is in the closed stacks, you can order it via the Aleph catalogue. It will be ready for collection within 20 minutes at the circulation desk or at the registration desk if it has an in-house loan status.
